Individual entrepreneurs with annual turnovers of less than GEL 500,000 (~$175,000) may register as a small business and pay just 1% tax on their turnover. The rate increases to 3% if your turnover exceeds GEL 500,000.
Schiff Sovereign's Take on Georgia
Georgia strikes a good balance between having a rich cultural history and traditional culture, and simultaneously being a progressive place where business people can excel.

We have written about Georgia's attractive tax incentives and business environment in this report.

Looking ahead, Georgia has the potential to become “the Estonia” of the Caucasus.

Tbilisi, the capital, and Batumi are fun towns. Reportedly, the first wine makers in history were from Georgia, so their famous wines pair very well with the country’s equally sumptuous food.

Georgia should be well known to regular Sovereign Man readers. We have covered Georgia several times, looking at its highly liquid banking sector and the ease with which you can open a bank account there. (You can do it simply by walking in with just your passport.)

The country also offers a first-world quality of life at a fraction of the cost in the West. Sure, this isn’t the most inexpensive country on Earth; Georgia is not as cheap as, say, India or Pakistan, but your money will go a long way there.

(More recently, one of our contacts on the ground reported that the country has gotten quite a bit more expensive, especially when it comes to rent, due to Ukrainians refugees and Russians flooding the country.)

But to us, Georgia is a highly pleasant place to live. And it is incredibly safe.

One of Sovereign Man’s former team members, originally from Germany, now lives in Georgia full time, and is happy there.

There are problems, too – like corruption, for example. Georgia has also had its fair share of disagreements with its giant neighbor, Russia, which resulted in a military conflict and the loss of the South Ossetia region back in 2008.

But since then, the new Georgian leadership seems to have improved the country’s relationship with Putin. And today, Georgia’s positives outweigh any negatives.

Overall, Georgia offers great opportunities for structuring a business, along with myriad investment opportunities.

For all these reasons – ease of doing business, low costs, and pleasant lifestyle – Georgia can be a great place for retirees, entrepreneurs and digital nomads alike.

What’s more, you don’t even need to worry about gaining residency there, because 360 days of visa-free access is available to citizens of most of the developed world.

Georgian people are also famous for their unique hospitality. And clearly, the Georgian government does not lag far behind. The country is not an obvious first option for many people, but it’s a highly compelling one, nonetheless.
